Unity House’s daycare and preschool programs are operated out of three locations, two in Troy and one in Albany. Children at each location will enjoy a variety of activities for Earth Day.
The program serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age, offering daycare, preschool and Universal Pre-kindergarten in a partnership with the school district. Unity Sunshine also provides therapeutic services for children with developmental delays and can offer screenings and evaluations. Children with special needs are integrated into classrooms for an environment where children of all abilities can grow and learn side by side.
To celebrate Earth Day, teachers have planned a week of lessons to highlight the importance of good stewardship of natural resources. Among the activities are crafts, literacy-based activities, indoor and outdoor games, and spring clean ups. At the South Troy location of the program, Unity Sunshine I at 435 Fourth Street, the school will welcome volunteers from SEFCU. Volunteers will help with raking leaves, cleaning up outdoor play areas and ensuring playground equipment is ready for play. Of course, children have been using the outdoor play spaces year-round, weather-permitting, but springtime calls for spring cleaning!
Many thanks to the wonderful crew at SEFCU for (again!) coming out to volunteer at the Unity Sunshine program!
