Community Boxes fill a Need

Thanks to Capital Region Menstrual Health, which advocates for women’s health, Unity House and other sites have community boxes with free period products.  The  boxes are repurposed boxes that once vended newspapers. The pads, tampons, and pantiliners, sometimes referred to as feminine hygiene products, are free for anyone with a need. Unlike our food pantry, which sometimes has these items available, there is no intake process. There are no barriers. Anyone can access the box to take when they need, or give what they have to share.

If you would like to help fill the boxes, drop off period products directly in the boxes, located in Troy at:

You can also bring donations to the front desk, drop off gift cards so we can purchase items, or make a monetary gift by making a check out to Unity House or using a credit card.  If you would like to shop online and ship direct to Unity House, we have Wish Lists. You can use them for inspiration to shop local, or shop online and ship direct.
