Siena College Sophomore Raises Awareness
Carsyn Ide organized a Run Like a Girl event but made it about more than running. Knowing the alarming statistics about violence against women, Carsyn wanted to help survivors of domestic violence, while also raising awareness about the plague of violence and the resources that are available to those affected by it.
Chilly Hands, Warm Hearts
It was a cold day on Tuesday, April 16th at the Siena College Campus, but that did not deter the scores of runners from coming out to take a short run on the beautiful Siena Campus. For many, the chance for a group run was part of their prep for May’s Run for Women, formerly called the Freihofer Run for Women.
Many who registered for the run chose to add in a little extra money to pass on to Unity House. Race organizers also collected needed items for those in our shelter, such as toiletries and other personal care items. We are grateful for these wonderful donations and support for survivors of domestic violence.
